Meet our team

At Ajenta, we always pride ourselves in providing first class service to our users and we believe this comes from employing a great team, who work well together and create our ‘Ajenta Family’. In this series of blog posts, we will let you get to know our team a little better.

Ondrej Stastny is a Front-End Developer within our Development team. Ondrej works remotely from the Czech Republic and explains how he utilises technology to keep in touch with his team, and the wider company to continue to deliver a first class service to our clients.

As you work remotely from your home the Czech Republic, has your typical day changed since the COVID-19 pandemic has struck?
Not at all. I must say that our company is well prepared for remote working with the technology available to us, ensuring regular contact from all areas of the business. In the Czech Republic, we were also very fortunate in that we could still see our closest friends throughout the lockdown period which made things a little easier.

How do you work with the rest of the Ajenta team when you are based remotely?
We use a variety of tools for collaboration and completing tasks. We regularly use our own platform (Vscene) to chat and catch up on video calls. We have also pioneered our current tech-stack to be able to handle development and seamless deployment from anywhere in the world with just a few commands.

What do you enjoy most about your role?
I very much appreciate the open culture in our team and the freedom of making my own decisions within the scope of my role. I enjoy it when I learn about something useful and can present it to the rest of the team and hear what they think.

What is your background and how did you decide to move into this role?
I studied electrical engineering but have enjoyed web development as a hobby for more than 10 years. I decided to start shaping my skill set towards a professional software development and after gaining experience, I applied for a front-end developer job at Ajenta and now I’m happy to be part of a wonderful team that has managed to build a truly modern platform for video conferencing.

What is the most interesting project you have worked on?
I had a chance to work on a few interesting side projects but I’ve definitely enjoyed rebuilding the back-end infrastructure of Vscene the most.

What are your hobbies out-with work? Any hidden talents?
When I’m not working, I enjoy rock climbing, hiking, socialising and catching up with my friends. I don’t think I have many special talents and if they are hidden, I hope they’ll come out soon!!

We currently have vacancies within our Development team – check them out here!
